INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese, cut into 3/4-inch x 3-inch sticks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping




INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Place the flour, eggs, and bread crumbs in separate shallow bowls.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Dredge each mozzarella stick in the flour, then the egg, and then the bread crumbs.

  5. Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.

  7. Heat the oil in a large saucepan or deep fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  8. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches until golden brown, about 1 minute per side.

  9. Drain on paper towels.

  10. Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
