INGREDIENTS:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
TIPS:
- For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- To make the bread even more moist, add 1/2 cup of sour cream or yogurt to the batter.
- If you don't have chocolate chips, you can use chopped nuts or dried fruit instead.
- To make chocolate banana muffins, pour the batter into greased muffin tins and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Enjoy! 😋😋
