INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple extract

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugars dissolve completely.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove the syrup from the heat and stir in the maple extract.

  5. Allow the syrup to cool slightly before serving.



STORAGE AND REHEATING:

  • Store the imitation maple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

  • Reheat the syrup gently over low heat before serving.
